The Swan Honda team were back to full force at Mallory Park for the fifth round of the MCE Insurance British Superbike Championship today as James Ellison made his much-anticipated return with an impressive performance just ten weeks after breaking his femur saw him score points in both races.

Tom Soderstrom from the Yamaha van Beers Racing Team scored four World Championship points at round eight of the World Championship MX1 Series at Teutschenthal in Germany. In the first moto he made two mistakes in the beginning of the race and was in the back of the pack. He tried to pass as much as riders as possible but didn’t score points with a 27th position. In the second moto things went better for the young Swedish rider. After a consistent race he finished the moto in 17th position and scored four World Championship points.

In the free practice session he had a small mechanical problem and had to go back to the paddock. Because of this he struggled to find his rhythm in the pre qualifying session. Despite this he was motivated to do well in the qualifying heat. He took a good start and went trough the first corner inside of the top fifteen. Because of a crash in the third lap he dropped back to 28th position. After the crash he tried to come back as far as possible but in the closing stages of the race he had another setback. A rider in front of him crashed right in front of Ceriel and because of the fact that Ceriel couldn’t avoid him he crashed as well. Ceriel finished the race in 30th position and was really disappointed when he went back to the paddock.

After two strong street course races at Oss and Hengelo the racing circus returned to Assen. Finding a good setup was hard this weekend. With a tenth qualification position Allard wasn’t satisfied.

Already starting at the first qualification everything looked good for Allard. In both qualifications he took fourth position. Because of a mistake by one of the teams in front he was allowed to start form third position on the first row. During the race he took right from the first corner third position. After a strong and well over thought race he finished on a safe distance of his opponents, with a huge wheely. First podium is in for the Putoline Oil Racing Team.

Team Putoline Oil Racing left home very confident for the next round at Hengelo. Allard felt immediately pretty good going round the street circuit. He was a bit disappointed with a 6th starting position. Allard lost 1 spot in the first corner but fought back to the 4th position. In the last laps he started to battle for the 3rd position with the championship leader Arie Vos. This battle continued until they both ended up in the grass at the last corner.
