TWO PODIUMS IN MISANO FOR THE TEN KATE JUNIOR TEAM

01-07-2010

Both Berger and Marino get the second place.

After a long stop the WSTK championship is back in Misano, second half of the season, aiming at the leadership in both Superstock 600 and 1000.

Maxime Berger, starting third on the grid, has been chasing the leader of the Championship, who started from the pole and led the whole race.

Maxime’s set up was completely different from the one used in the last races. He managed to establish a new feeling with his CBR1000RR and got to second place.

With 5 more rounds to go , Berger is now on the 2nd place of the STK1000’s general standings.

Florian Marino settled for a second place after a race-long, taught ‘bagarre’ with the leader of the race. Marino goes back home with both the regret of missing the top placement on the podium and the intention to be back in Brno at his best…to win!

Maxime Berger #21, Superstock 1000:

“it has been a positive week-end. We’ve been working a lot on the setting of the bike because I’ve had many problems with the front tyre on Friday. Yesterday we decided to use a different set up that we had never used before, jeopardizing the qualifying result. We didn’t know if this new set up would adapt perfectly to my needs so I had to set many laps to reach the feeling that I was looking for. It has been a positive race, I’ve been trying to chase the leader but sometimes staying next to him in curves was pretty difficult.
Now we have to keep on working assiduously to gain more points in the standings” .

Florian Marino #21, Superstock 600:

“I made some mistakes during the race and I finished second. Maybe my inexperience could be the reason but I won’t give up. I can’t wait to go to Brno to win and get the leadership”.

Domenico Francese, Team manager:

“both races have been very thrilling : Maxime and Florian have been struggling to clinch the top placement on the podium and this demonstrate how competitive is the technical and sporting level of the Team. Maxime after an excellent start managed to reach a brilliant race pace, always aiming at the first place. He did his best to do so.
Florian ‘s race was well-thought. Unfortunately he underestimated his rival who, after a mistake, managed to get back to the front”.

Next race: 10th / 11th July 2010 Brno (Czech Republic)
