Top-10 for brave Massei at Misano

11-06-2012

Fabio Massei scored ninth place in today’s FIM Cup Superstock 1000 race at the Misano World Circuit in Italy. The EAB Ten Kate Junior Team rider had a decent start but was locked up in the first tight chicane and lost a couple of positions.

Unfortunately the fourth Superstock 1000 race was interrupted after a few laps with a red flag incident caused by oil on the track after a harmless crash. Due to the red flag the race was shortened from fourteen to six laps. Far too little for the brave EAB Ten Kate Junior Team rider to make any real progress.

Fabio Massei (STK1000 race – 9th + 5.198 seconds): “To be honest, I’m satisfied and not satisfied at the same time. In the first part, before the red flag, I had a good start and a good race rhythm. The second part of the race was too short for me because it is nearly impossible to recover from ninth on the grid in only six laps. My weekend here at the Misano World Circuit was very good until yesterday’s crash in the second qualification. We must retain this good feeling from Friday and Saturday morning in preparation to Aragon, our next race in three weeks.”
