Evgeny Bobryshev in the top ten at Portuguese Grand Prix

Evgeny Bobryshev from the Yamaha van Beers Racing Team has finished 10th overall at the fifth round of the World Championship Series MX2 in Agueda, Portugal. In the first moto he made a mistake while racing in the top 10 but recovered well. After strong race he finished in 12th position. In the second moto Bobryshev finished in 14th place after a very hard race. Carlos Campano and Rob van Vijfeijken did well in Portugal as well. Campano finished in 20th and in 12th place, which resulted in 16th place overall. Rob van Vijfeijken finished in 20th place in the second moto and scored 1 World Championship point.

Evgeny Bobryshev had qualified himself in 9th position in his qualification heat on Saturday. Evgeny had a good start in the first moto but due to a mistake in the beginning of the race he dropped back to 19th place. The talented Russian did not give up and started to make his way back to the front of the race. After a few exiting duels Evgeny raced his well prepared Yamaha to 12th place and finished.
In the second moto Evgeny couldn’t find his rhythm in the first few laps and dropped back to 19th place. Bobryshev did his best and raced back to the front in a very high pace. Despite the small differences between the riders Evgeny was able to overtake a few places and finished in 14th place.
Evgeny finished 10th overall in Portugal. After five rounds he sits in 19th place in the World Championship Standings.

Carlos Campano and Rob van Vijfeijken:
On Saturday Carlos Campano qualified himself in 11th place for the race on Sunday. Rob van Vijfeijken started his qualifying heat in the back of the pack and because the differences between the riders were very small he did not get further than 26th place.
In the first moto both Yamaha riders started the race in the back of the pack. It didn’t take long before Carlos worked himself back up and moved into 18th position. Due to a mistake in the last part of the race he lost two places and finally finished the race in 20th place and scored 1 WC point. Rob van Vijfeijken was able to pass several riders as well but he could not get beyond 22nd place and so did not score any points.
In the second moto Carlos Campano had a better start and at the end of the first lap he was racing in 17th place. Carlos had found his right rhythm and in the middle of the race he moved to 12th place. After a while he even got to 11th place but lost it in the last part of the race. After a very good race Carlos finished 12th. Rob van Vijfeijken had a bad start and had to race all the way back to the front of the race again. Rob gave everything he got and finally finished the race in 20th place and got 1 well-deserved World Championship point.
Carlos Campano finished in 16th place overall while Rob van Vijfeijken ended the day 24th place.

After five rounds Carlos Campano sits in 24th place and Rob van Vijfeijken is 26th position after the Grand Prix in Portugal. Next weekend the 6th round of the World Championship Series will be held in Bellpuig, Spain.
