Still he managed to race his van Beers Yamaha to 20th place and scored one World Championship point.

In the second moto Evgeny got involved in a crash in the first turn. This time the rest of the race went better and after a few laps Evgeny had worked himself into 14th place. In the closing stages he moved into 13th place and it looked like this was the position where he should finish in. Unfortunately with only 2 laps to go Evgeny had to retire from the race due to mechanical problems.

Evgeny finished in 27th position overall in Spain. After six rounds he sits in 22nd position in the World Championship Series.

Rob van Vijfeijken was able to make some good progress during the race. Eventually he finished in 20th place and scored 1 World Championship point.
