Steffi Laier back on the bike after long injury

25-02-2013

Almost 6 months after Steffi broke her femur, she is finally back on her Rabbit Kawasaki 250F again. The doctor gave her permission to practice serious again from 15th February. Only 6 weeks before the first GP for Women in Valkenswaard/The Netherlands. She decided to make her “Comeback” to the FIM Women’s World Championship. Steffi will give all, to be as well prepared as possible for the first GP. Steffi realized that she missed the FIM WMX and to ride with the fastest women in the world. She is really looking forward to ride with Fontanesi, Kane, V/d Wekken again and to battle for a podium place. The tracks are always perfect and fun to ride and this championship is the place to be for Steffi.

Steffi Laier: “I did learn a lot out of my long injury time and I understand now all the changements which were made. I am happy to ride with the girls again which I did ride already with long time before. It will be a hard time to get ready for the first GP in Valkenswaard but I will give my best to reach the podium. Many thanks to my sponsors, all my fans and helpers for going through this hard time and keeping the faith in me. Without them it would be very difficult to reach it. Last but not least many thanks to my parents and friends for being there for me when I needed them the most. Thank you!”

Besides that, Steffi will ride all the possible races for the NK Womens Championship in The Netherlands. The NK became the new Championship for the girls in 2013. In 2012 it was known as the ONK Dutch Open Womens Championship which Steffi could win. She will also ride some international races in Belgium, France and Luxembourg. Steffi is very happy to be nominated for the X-Games again. This year there will be a Global X-Games Championship for the Enduro X Competition all over the world. Steffi has planned to ride the X-Games Event in Munich/Germany June 27-30.
