Fabio Massei has scored a very well-deserved seventh place in today’s European Superstock 1000 race at a warm and sunny Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari in Imola, Italy.
The EAB Ten Kate Junior Team rider started the race from sixteenth on the grid after difficult free practice sessions and qualifications on Friday and Saturday. Therefore Massei needed a good start and fortunately he had a good start as Massei was in tenth place after the first lap. The Roman pushed each lap to the maximum and in the end, he crossed the line in seventh.
Fabio Massei: “I knew a good result was possible, if I had a good start. However, I lost a lot of time in the first lap as there were so many fights. My race pace was very good, from the beginning until the end, and that made the difference. Especially with used tires I was very fast. I would like to thank my EAB Ten Kate Junior Team, it’s great to be back."
