Chesaux finished season in fourth

21-10-2013

Bastien Chesaux has scored a fourth place in today’s final European Superstock 600 race at Jerez de la Frontera in Spain. The EAB Ten Kate Junior Team rider started from eight on the grid after some problems in both qualifications.

Like Magny-Cours Chesaux had a very good first lap at Jerez and was in third. But unfortunately, the Swiss lost a lot of time again after a typical European Superstock 600 ding-dong battle with Italian Stefano Casalotti and he had to be satisfied with fourth place. In the final European Superstock 600 classification Chesaux finished fourth as well.

Bastien Chesaux (STK600): “My race was much better as the last one in France and I pushed once more to the maximum, from the first to the last second of the race. Unfortunately I had a few small but important problems and lost a lot of time with the fight with Stefano Casalotti. From that moment, a podium finish was no longer possible. A real shame as my team did a brilliant job. Thanks to everybody who support me this season! Hope to see you all next year.”

Fabio Massei was fourteenth in today’s final European Superstock 1000 qualification, only 1.326 seconds behind pole sitter Jeremy Guarnoni and thousands of seconds from a top-10 grid position. Expectations are therefore high in the team of Massei as a very positive end of the season is certainly possible.

Fabio Massei (STK1000): “We are very close to the top-10 of the European Superstock 1000 so that is good. It’s unbelievable close here at Jerez so I’m almost sure that we can have a race like we did in the first part at Magny-Cours. I need a good start and then we will see.”
