Motorcycle dealers LC Greens of Beccles in Suffolk took a second place finish at the third and final round held in Bitterfeld in Germany which was enough for Wayne Turner to take the UIM European Formula 250 title for the second year in succession. The second place finish on the day could have been better if not for a DNF in heat race 2 caused by a broken propeller.
Wayne took a dominant maximum points win at the first round of the championship held in Boretto, Italy and had the pace to repeat the result at the second round held in Baja, Hungary, but had to settle for third after a DNF in the first heat race caused by a broken earth wire!
Wayne said, “The 250cc two-stroke engines used in these 100mph hydroplanes can be a little ‘fragile’, but despite the couple of DNFs caused by unforeseen problems the engine has been 100% reliable all year in all of the international, national and club races I have entered. This is certainly testament to the quality of Putoline products and particularly the new Castor ‘R’ racing oil.”
Wayne and the team would like to thank Putoline for their near 15 years of support and hope that the winning combination continues well into the future.
