Alex Schacht has ended today’s FIM Cup Superstock 1000 race at the Lausitzring in a very strong eleventh place. Alex started the race from seventeenth place at the grid after a difficult qualification session on Saturday and maintained his position in the very tight first sector of the infield circuit at the Lausitzring. Thanks to an impressive race pace on his Ducati Panigale R, Alex was able to run away and at the end he was riding in the top-10 again. But in the last lap, he lost one place and had to be satisfied with eleventh.
In the championship Alex is now in a strong thirteenth place with nineteen points.
The Superstock 1000 European Championship riders will be back on track at Portimao in Portugal from September 15-17.
Alex: “I’m really happy after a very challenging weekend here at the Lausitzring. We tried many things and at the end we made a good race result and that’s all about. My main problem is that I can’t keep my corner speed as the tyres are getting older, especially in the long corners. My goal was to score points again and I did so thanks to my team and I’m really looking forward to Portimao in four weeks time.”
